Accepting Applications for New High School Chapters. Apply Now!

42 schools submitted requests for because I said I would programming in the last 30 days. Educators and parents know that social and emotional learning (SEL) can help students bounce back from the adversity of the pandemic. Should the high school in your community start a because I said I would chapter in the fall? Here’s what our chapters do:

  • Nine (9) interactive monthly character development workshops
  • Nine (9) monthly peer accountability team meetings for goal-tracking
  • Three (3) schoolwide volunteer projects to help others in need
  • And more!

We are still accepting applications to start because I said I would high school chapters for the 2021-2022 school year. Text Kay, our COO, at 216.505.0962 to set up a time to talk, or email kay@becauseisaidiwould.org. Help start a chapter at your local high school!High School Chapters »

Promise Story

High School Success

Chapter Students Celebrate Unsung Heroes.

In a world where celebrities and athletes are idealized, we recognize that there are many unsung heroes that work to better the world around them, with little thanks or gratitude. One group of individuals in particular are the selfless teachers who lead our youth each and every day. Students from our chapter at Fairview High School made a promise to honor and recognize teaching staff members for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice. To show their appreciation, the students hosted and served breakfast during a required staff in-service day. They decorated the cafeteria with banners and signs, thanking teachers for their help and guidance both in and outside of the classroom. Students also nominated one teacher from each grade to be recognized as its unsung hero. These heroes were publicly thanked during the breakfast, given cards filled with messages from students, and presented with student-created physical awards! For the rest of the morning, students assisted teachers with their in-service staff day, moving classrooms due to construction at the school. Teachers spend countless hours supporting students on their educational journey, often going above and beyond their job description. Fairview chapter students wanted to be sure their teachers knew that those heroic efforts are not taken for granted. Make a promise to thank an educator today!View more success stories here »
