For some victims of human trafficking, the only time they get to be alone is in the bathroom. Our chapter members then distributed this soap to area hotels and motels. At one of the locations, our team approached the man working the hotel counter and asked him if they would accept the soap. He took the informational handout, but the expression on his face was hard to interpret. The team feared that their offer would be rejected. Instead, the man said that his niece had been missing for two years. He expressed his gratitude for our promise and took the box. The team then continued to the next hotel hoping for another “Yes.”
