@thatpdxkid posted this promise card on Instagram with #becauseisaidiwould
“I have been a heroin addict for coming on 9 years now. I’m 23 and started when I was 15. I made this promise to my loved ones because it means the world to not only me but them for me to stay clean. On July 29th, 2013 Portland police found me dead in my girlfriend’s truck and brought me back to life and I realized that I can’t fight this battle alone. So I made a choice to go to rehab and keep my end of this promise. I have a child on the way and maybe one day I can have a talk with him or her and tell her about my promise with 20 years clean. My hopes are high.”
This picture was posted back in August. @thatpdxkid posted a new comment on our Facebook page on October 9th. It read: “This is thatpdxkid from instagram. Currently enrolled in college learning how to weld to keep my promise to “always fight heroin.” Things are going great not to say there isn’t struggle but I’m hanging in for my family and I everyday.”
We are so glad to hear that he is sticking to his promise!
