A student named Hunter messaged me recently…

“Hey Alex, I just wanted to say that you’ve made a huge impact and touched me with what you’re doing. My dad passed away when I was 10; I accidentally shot him while we were on a hunting trip. It has been a huge burden on my life, but with the great support of my family and friends I’m one year from being the first person in my family to graduate from a university with a 3.5 GPA. My family doesn’t have a lot of money and my siblings don’t really have anything going for them at all. I promised myself as a kid after the accident that I would do everything in my power to make it up to them. Really, thank you for this. This is just what I needed to lift me up out of a semi-dark place in my life.”

This is a picture of Hunter (right), his brother and his dad.

Hunter, send me a picture of that 3.5GPA on graduation day. Don’t give up.
