“I have battled with low to even no self-esteem at all since I was a small child from the trauma and abuse I suffered. I make this promise to love myself more.”

I saw the picture and it made me tear up, since I was also abused as a child and struggle with low/no self esteem.
Then I read the post and found out the girl who wrote it has the same name as me. When I read “Kim, we are so proud of your strength” I started to sob. It just hit way too close to home.
Kim, I think you are incredibly brave and an inspiration. I’m going to print out this post to remind me to try as hard as you do to accept and love myself.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve been battling with self-esteem since I was a young teen. After suffering an eating disorder, I never recovered from the low self-esteem. I will now tell myself something nice about myself every time i look at myself in the mirror. This is really helpful.
